Quick Start Instructions

Pre-requisites:

• Login Name & Password (see contact details)
• For Demo version (limited interaction) use (Username: demo, Password: demo)

Starting Up:

• Click Login to authenticate your access level
• Select Start new game to enter the simulation.
• Note that a single session can last for a maximum of 20 minutes (without saving)

Phase 1 (Planning):

• Select a Contracting Firm to deliver each of the 18 listed activities
• The following options are now available throughout the simulation:
• Use "Quick Select" to allocate default contractors
• Use the available information:
  • Performance Data - know your figures
  • Network Diagram - organise your activities
  • Activity Information - see your float times
  • History - view your past decisions
• Click "Control Screen" at any time to temporarily leave the simulation to:
  • Save your simulation to either local or server computer
  • Load a previously saved simulation from either local or server computer
  • View help files
  • Exit the application
• When each task has been assigned a Contractor - Sign Contracts!

Phase 2 (Construction Management):

• Respond to each event successively through the options provided
• Don't forget to use the information available to you
• Negotiate with contractors to save time, for a fee

Phase 3 (Evaluation and reflection):

• Use the on-line feedback within the simulation and the debriefing questions to help you identify your main learning points.

Helpful Hints:

• Task costs and durations are initially rough values - check and adjust your selections if appropriate at the end of Phase 1.
• Morale only changes in Phase 2.
• Contractor Names give an indication as to their characteristics!
